My favorite things to do on a Sunday

Standard

In no particular order. . .

  • Cook or bake something that takes a long time. Today might be my belated start to making Christmas cookies.
  • Go to the Farmer’s Market.  The Mar Vista Farmer’s Market is on of my favorite things about this neighborhood.  They have the perfect mix of produce and prepared foods. And really really good goat cheese. And no crazy hippies yelling at the Chinese vendors for abusing chickens. (You know who you are, San Francisco Civic Center farmers market!)
  •  Go for a run, hike with the doggies, or go to yoga.  Exercise always feels like an extra accomplishment on a Sunday.
  • Watch football!  Not really, but it happens whether I like it or not.  I usually either cook something, read, or nap on the couch.

This is one of the first weekends that it’s really felt like winter in L.A.  Highs of 56 today!  And it’s allegedly raining right now, but I’ve been up since 7:30 and I haven’t seen a drop. I love lazy Sundays and an excuse to turn on the fireplace.

Have a great Sunday!

Meet the crew!

This is Lando (a.k.a. Dizzle, Dizz), an 8-year-old chihuahua jack russell mix who we adopted from the shelter in San Mateo, CA, three years ago:

Lando’s likes include bacon, eating stuff off the street, hunting gophers, and Asian girls.  My brother took this picture, hency the fancy use of black and white and soft background focus.

This is Rascal (a.k.a. Razz), an almost 9-year-old chihuahua Boston terrier mix who we adopted in Los Angeles a few months ago:

Rascal’s likes include sitting on your lap, biting pant legs, fetching, and snuggling under blankets.

Since I work from home, Lando and Rascal are not only my pets, but my assistants.

Top five reasons I heart my Amazon Kindle

Standard

1. I can bring five books on vacation with me without having to physically carry five books. On vacation, I don’t have to share my husband’s boring book selections with him.

2. I can read in bed without straining my neck or wrist.

3. No one can see that I’m reading Twilight.

4. It fits in a medium-sized purse. I have last year’s model (with the keyboard), and the new one is even smaller!

5.  No need to buy $25 of stuff on Amazon to get free shipping!

If there’s someone on your Christmas list who you’ve yet to buy for, I think this would make a great gift.
